【居くずし】　” 着くずす” ように、人の行為が、空間の型を崩しながら自身や他者になじませてゆくこと。

2009 年に東京へ来て１年と少しを過ごし、その後トルコへ留学しそこで１年を過ごした。自分が知らない土地に馴染んでいくという過程を短い期間に２度経験した。

トルコでは、「あのお店で、あのおっちゃんが、こんな椅子に座って、こんなモノに囲まれながら、こう過ごしていた。」と今でも人と風景がくっついて、ありありと思い浮かべることができる。トルコにはそういった、人を受け入れて馴染ませる、その場所にただ佇ませる力をもった空間があり、その空間の力を紐解いてみたい、という興味から本研究をスタートした。

[I-Kuzushi] The act of a person breaking the mold of a space and making themselves and others fit into it, as in dressing down “Ki-Kuzusu”.

I came to Tokyo in 2009 and spent a little over a year there before going to Turkey to study for a year. I experienced the process of adjusting to an unfamiliar place twice in a short period of time. Even now, I can vividly picture the people and the scenery in Turkey, like "that old man in that shop, sitting in that chair, surrounded by this kind of thing, spending his time like this...". I started this research out of an interest in trying to unravel the power of such spaces in Turkey, which have the power to make people feel accepted and fitted, and to make them simply stand in a certain place.
